Organisations

Recognition register

Organisations that accept CELP results, and how an organisation joins them.

What recognition means

A recognising organisation accepts a CELP Test Report Form as evidence of English proficiency for its own purposes, at a band it sets itself. Recognition does not mean the organisation endorses CELP, and it does not oblige it to accept every band.

Setting a requirement

Most organisations set a requirement as an overall band, sometimes with a minimum in individual sections. A programme with heavy written assessment might reasonably ask for an overall 6.5 with no section below 6.

Typical purposeCommon requirement
Undergraduate studyOverall 6.0, no section below 5.5
Postgraduate studyOverall 6.5, no section below 6.0
General employmentOverall 5.5
Client-facing or safety-critical rolesOverall 6.5 with Speaking at 6.5

These are illustrative, not prescribed. The right requirement is the one your own programme or role actually needs.

Joining the register

Write to support@celptest.org with your organisation's legal name, the purpose for which results will be used and the requirement you intend to set. We confirm the entry before it appears.

Verifying a result

Recognising organisations verify a Test Report Form using the verification number printed on it. Verification returns the bands and the test date only, and needs no account or login.
